Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas has a slight advantage thanks to his poke with Q and his sustain.
✅ Alistar becomes dangerous level 2-3 with his W-Q combo, but remains vulnerable before.
✅ If Alistar misses his engage, punish him with E-Q to force a winning trade.
âš Don't position yourself too close, or he may W-Q you under his tower.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas roams better than Alistar thanks to his E + R, so take the opportunity to gank mid.
✅ Use your R to counter Alistar's engagement, pushing him back or disorganizing the enemy team.
âš Don't hit Alistar first in teamfights, as his R reduces damage enormously.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas is more versatile: he can engage, disengage or isolate a carry with his R.
✅ Alistar is tankier and more durable, but Gragas can reverse a fight by isolating an opponent's carry.
✅ Aim for the enemy ADC or mid with your E-R combo, not Alistar.
âš If Alistar finds a good engage on your ADC, the game can turn.
Aphelios
The only thing Aphelios doesn't have is mobility (thanks god). So before level 6, it's playable/even. After Level 6, we can quickly punish.
Ashe
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Ashe is vulnerable to all-ins: she has no dash, so a well-placed E + R can easily punish her.
✅ Gragas tanke his poke well thanks to his passive and can reduce pressure with his Q.
âš Watch out for her constant poke with her W - Ranger concentration and slow-motion auto-attacks.
âš Don't let Ashe control the lane: she can harass you if you play too passively.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas roams better than Ashe: take advantage of your E-R to go for mid kills.
✅ Ashe is fragile and remains an easy target if you catch him out of position.
âš Her R - Enchanted Crystal Arrow can topple a fight, so be ready to peel your ADC.
âš She can slow down your whole team with her passive, so avoid prolonged fights.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Your R can isolate Ashe and take her out of the fight, which can be decisive.
✅ If you engage well, she won't be able to kite effectively and will be an easy target.
âš If Ashe plays her positioning well, she can kite your engage and be a big problem.
âš She brings a tremendous amount of control with her slowdowns and R, so engage intelligently.
Bard
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Bard is fragile in early and can be punished by an all-in with E + Q.
✅ If Bard wanders off to collect chimes, take the opportunity to assault the ADC.
âš His poke with auto-attacks and Q can be troublesome, so avoid taking too much free damage.
âš His E - Magical Travel gives him great mobility, he can easily flee a bad trade.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Bard will be roaming a lot, use this time to put pressure on his ADC.
✅ You roam well too, try to influence the mid with your E + R.
âš His R - Tempered Fate can totally negate your engage or setup a trap.
âš Don't blindly pursue him in his E, he can isolate and punish you.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Your R is more reliable than his R: if Bard misses, you can engage immediately.
✅ If Bard is badly positioned, you can catch him easily and remove a key element from the teamfight.
âš His control in teamfight can be a problem, so don't stay too bunched up to avoid a good AOE stun.
âš Its R can stop one of your key engages, so be patient before committing.
Early game: Slight Brand advantage thanks to his poke, but if Gragas finds a good all-in with E + R, he can force a kill or flash.
Mid-game: Gragas' advantage if well played. He can initiate or disengage effectively, preventing Brand from placing a good ulti in a teamfight.
Late-game: Brand becomes a damage machine, but Gragas remains more useful in teamfights if he controls the opponent's carries well.
Play around Brand's cooldowns: Engage when he's used his W.
Build MR quickly: Rammus Vest (which becomes Thorny Boot) or Knight's Vow can help.
Braum
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas has a slight advantage thanks to his poke with Q and his sustain via his passive.
✅ Braum is solid but more passive in early, he can initiate few trades unless he has stacks from his passive.
âš Watch out for his Q - Protect/Frapper, which can stun if you're too close to his ADC.
âš Avoid grouping too close to Braum, especially if he has his passive ready to activate.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can roam more effectively with his E + R, and he can quickly toggle skirmishes.
✅ Braum is slower to move and often stays in his lane, so you can get the upper hand on the map.
âš Braum can stop your engages with his Q and E (if you engage too quickly or are badly positioned).
âš Braum is good at peeling and protecting his ADC: he can block skills like your Q with his shield.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can easily engage or disengage with his R, disrupting the opposing formation.
✅ Braum becomes a huge peel for his team, blocking a lot of damage with his passive and his E - Unified Shield.
âš Braum can counter your engage well, especially if his passive is active on a nearby enemy.
âš Use your R to split the opposing team or disrupt Braum's engage on a carry.
Caitlyn
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas has good sustain thanks to her passive and can poke with Q from a distance.
✅ Caitlyn is very strong in poke, with a greater auto-attack range than Gragas, and she can easily push the lane.
âš Watch out for her Q - yordle trap, which can slow you down and make it difficult to engage if you're caught in it.
âš Don't let her auto-attacks poke you too much, especially with her E - Trap net, which can easily isolate an engage.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can roam effectively and get the upper hand on Caitlyn, who often stays in lane to farmer.
✅ Caitlyn is fragile, so if you successfully engage with E + R, she's easy to eliminate.
âš She can poke from a distance with her Q and auto-attack, so keep your distance when trading.
âš Her trap can be a big obstacle, preventing a direct engage if you get caught in it.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Caitlyn with her R - Explosive Barrel, and cancel her kite if she's too far forward.
✅ Caitlyn remains a danger with her ranged damage, but she's fragile one-on-one.
âš She can quickly escape your engages if she has good positioning, thanks to her range and E - Trap Net.
âš Beware of her constant poke, which can weaken your team before the fight has even begun.
Corki
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas has good sustain and can poke with his Q, but Corki is strong in poke too, thanks to his Phosphorus and ranged autos.
✅ Gragas can hardly engage on Corki in early, as he's quite mobile with his E - Valkyrie and can easily flee.
âš Corki has a long range and can harass you without too much risk of trade if you don't position well.
âš Her constant poke can be difficult to manage, so try to avoid taking too much free damage.
Mid-Game
✅ Gragas can roam more effectively with his E + R, especially if Corki remains farmer in his lane.
✅ Corki is a little fragile at this stage, and you can easily catch him with a good engage, especially if his E is in cooldown.
âš Corki can easily reposition herself with her E, so don't rush to engage her without vision.
âš Her AP poke with the rocket pack can hurt a lot in skirmish, so be careful.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Corki well with his R, especially if he's too far forward or in a bad position.
✅ Corki has good range and damage capacity but is fragile one-on-one. If you manage to catch him, he falls quickly.
âš Corki can kite very effectively, so a good R or engage is needed to neutralize him before he becomes too much of a problem.
âš His ultimate and ranged poke can be a real problem in teamfights if you can't catch him quickly.
Draven
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Draven is extremely strong in early with his damage-increasing passive, but Gragas can punish him if he positions himself badly.
✅ Gragas can trade effectively with his Q and E, gaining the advantage if he engages well.
âš Draven has a big power spike with his axes: avoid getting caught by his Q - Spinning Axe.
âš Watch out for his aggression and trades, especially if he has his passive loaded, as he can snowball quickly.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can easily roam with his E + R, and he can surprise Draven if he's not well positioned.
✅ Draven is fragile despite his high damage, so a good E + R can quickly get him out of a fight.
âš Draven can quickly reposition himself thanks to his axes, so be careful in skirmishes.
âš His 1v1 burst is monstrous, so don't underestimate him even if you have tank advantage.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Draven with his R, which can be decisive in teamfights.
✅ If Draven finds himself badly positioned, he can fall very quickly under your blows.
âš Draven can inflict a huge amount of damage in teamfight, especially if he gets his axes back.
âš If Draven is positioned correctly, he's a huge carry, so try to isolate him before he has a chance to do damage.
Ezreal
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade well thanks to his poke with Q and his sustain, but Ezreal has good mobility and can reposition easily with his E - Esquive.
✅ Ezreal is rather weak in direct engagement and can hardly punish you unless he benefits from a sustain with lots of peel.
âš Ezreal can poke you from a distance with his auto-attacks and Q , so pay attention to his remote trades.
âš Don't get caught by his skills, especially his Q, which can cancel your engages or make you lose a trade.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas has more roaming potential thanks to his E + R, and can often engage a fight before Ezreal can escape.
✅ Ezreal is fragile in skirmishes, and a good E + R can catch him out of position and eliminate him quickly.
âš Ezreal can kite easily and use his E - Dodge to avoid your engages, so you need to be strategic in your engagements.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can engage or disengage with his R, and if Ezreal is badly positioned, you can quickly catch him and take him out of the fight.
✅ Ezreal is more vulnerable in the late game, because if he's well targeted by your R, he has few means of escape.
âš Ezreal is difficult to kill in teamfights thanks to its mobility and long-range poke. He can also kite engages with his E.
Jhin
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade well with his Q and sustain, but Jhin is very strong in poke with his auto-attacks and Q.
✅ Jhin is somewhat predictable in trades due to his passive, which forces him to reposition after every fourth shot. This gives you opportunities to engage once he has used his bullets.
âš **Be cautious of his W, which can slow you down, and his Q, which can be a strong poke from range.
⚠Jhin can kite easily, so don’t rush to engage without knowing his positioning.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas has more roaming potential with his E + R, allowing him to catch Jhin off guard if he's overextended.
✅ Jhin is quite vulnerable in skirmishes: a good E + R can quickly take him down if you catch him off guard.
⚠Jhin is very dangerous at range with his auto-attacks and ultimate, so don’t engage unless you're confident you can take him out quickly.
âš His W can slow you down, and his R can deal significant burst damage if you're low on health. Be mindful of your positioning.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Jhin well with his R, especially if Jhin is out of position or too exposed.
✅ Jhin is fragile in terms of mobility, and once he’s used his passive ammo, you have a good chance to punish him.
⚠Jhin can deal a massive burst with his R, and if he’s well-positioned, he can quickly eliminate your carries, so be vigilant.
⚠Don’t group too much to avoid getting hit by his R in an area. If you’re caught, he can quickly wipe out multiple members of your team.
Jinx
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade effectively with his Q and sustain, but Jinx has great poke with her Q and auto-attacks.
✅ Jinx is somewhat immobile, making her vulnerable to engages if she’s not carefully positioned. You can take advantage of this to initiate trades.
âš Jinx can harass from range with her Q and auto-attacks, so be cautious when approaching.
âš She can push the lane quickly with her passive, which might make it harder for you to land engages.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can roam better with his E + R, giving him the chance to engage on Jinx if she's overextended.
✅ Jinx is fragile and can be punished easily if caught in an engage, especially if her Rocket Launcher (her switch mode) is in a bad position.
âš Jinx's Zap! (W) can slow you down and keep you from engaging, so be careful not to get caught by it.
⚠She can deal significant damage in skirmishes with her R, especially if you’re grouped up.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Jinx with his R, particularly if she’s out of position.
✅ Jinx is a late-game monster, but she's also vulnerable if you catch her before she can get fully powered up with her passive.
âš Jinx can melt through your team with her R and her auto-attacks, especially once she gets her passive stacked up.
âš She can kite you easily if you fail to catch her quickly, so you need to make sure your engage is on point.
Kai'Sa
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade effectively with his Q and sustain, and Kai'Sa is not overly aggressive early, relying mostly on poke and farm.
✅ Kai'Sa has decent mobility with her E, so she’s not an easy target for engages, but if she mispositions, you can capitalize on it.
âš Kai'Sa can poke from range with her Q, so avoid standing too close to minions and getting hit by it.
⚠Kai'Sa’s auto-attacks can apply damage over time and poke, especially if she has W ready for more burst, so be careful when she gets passive stacks.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can easily roam with his E + R, catching Kai'Sa off guard if she’s overextended or lacks vision.
✅ Kai'Sa is squishy early on, making her vulnerable to a well-timed E + R engage that can shut her down quickly.
âš Kai'Sa can reposition with her E and avoid engages, so you need to be strategic when going for the engage.
âš Her burst with Q + R can be deadly, so keep your health topped off and avoid engaging when you're already low.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Kai'Sa with his R, especially if she mispositions or is caught in a bad spot during a teamfight.
✅ Kai'Sa has strong late-game scaling, but she’s still somewhat squishy if she’s caught out. A well-timed R can easily take her out of a fight.
⚠Kai'Sa's mobility and damage output in fights, especially with her Q + R combo, can be a major threat if she’s allowed to kite.
⚠She can easily dodge engages using her E, so don’t engage unless you have good vision and control.
Kalista
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade effectively with his Q and sustain, and Kalista is very reliant on positioning to deal damage. If you can catch her in a bad spot, you can engage and deal solid damage.
✅ Kalista's mobility with her E makes her hard to lock down, but her lack of reliable poke gives Gragas some opportunities to bully her in trades.
âš Kalista is very mobile and can easily dodge your Q with her E, making it difficult to land your engage if she's aware.
⚠Kalista’s Q can be a hassle early on as it deals decent damage and can poke from a distance, so avoid trading when you're low on health.
Mid-Game (Roaming and Skirmishes)
✅ Gragas can roam well with his E + R, and Kalista, being squishy and immobile without her E ready, can be easily caught out.
✅ Kalista is vulnerable to a well-timed engage, especially when she’s caught off guard or overextends in skirmishes.
⚠Kalista’s kiting can make it difficult to engage on her directly, especially if she has good positioning and uses her E effectively.
⚠Kalista’s W (Sentinel) can help her mark you, and if she has a support with strong peel, she can become a serious threat in skirmishes.
Late-Game (Teamfights & Objectives)
✅ Gragas can isolate Kalista with his R, but she will often have a lot of peel from her support and mobility to dodge engages.
✅ Kalista is very mobile and dangerous in extended fights, but if she gets caught out without her E or W up, she is very squishy and vulnerable to being burst down.
⚠Kalista can kite and dance around your engage with her E, so make sure to time your R well when she’s out of position.
âš Her damage output can be high, especially if she has good positioning and can jump around using her E, so make sure to focus her down quickly in fights.
Karma
Early Game (Laning Phase)
✅ Gragas can trade well with his Q and sustain, but Karma has strong poke and a shield to mitigate some of your damage.
✅ Karma's poke with her Q can be annoying, but she’s not a huge threat unless she lands it repeatedly. You can look to engage after she uses her abilities.
âš Karma can kite and peel for her ADC with her E, which can make it hard to fully engage on the enemy.
âš Her Q can easily poke you down, so be careful when engaging to avoid taking too much damage from her poke.
Mid-Game (Impact on the Game)
✅ Gragas has a big impact in mid-game as an engage tank. You can look to roam with your E + R to force objectives or skirmishes. Karma's poke and utility don’t scale as well at this point, meaning your engages can heavily dictate the pace of the game.
✅ Karma is useful for keeping her ADC alive with shields, but she struggles against hard engages like yours. If you can lock down her ADC, Karma’s ability to peel is limited.
âš Karma can still slow down your engages with her E, providing utility and protection to her ADC, which can disrupt your plans. Her W can also reduce your engage potential by shielding her carries.
⚠Your team’s success in skirmishes depends on whether you can get through Karma's defensive tools. If she successfully keeps her ADC safe, you’ll need to position well to maximize your threat in teamfights.
Late-Game (Impact on the Game)
✅ Gragas shines in late-game teamfights as a disruptor. His R can split the enemy backline, isolating key carries like the ADC or mid-laner. While Karma’s utility remains strong, she doesn’t scale as well in terms of direct impact on fights.
✅ Karma still has her shield and utility but struggles to provide the same level of frontline control that Gragas can. If you can engage on the enemy team properly, she won’t be able to stop you from disrupting the backline.
⚠Karma’s ability to shield and kite continues to be a threat, especially if she uses her R to enhance her abilities. Her W and E can provide strong protection, which may delay or counter your engage if she’s positioned well.
âš The late game will largely depend on positioning. If you can dive the enemy carries or zone out Karma from using her utility, you will have a much stronger presence.
Leona
It's all about the spells. You can peel off your adc and counter-attack, but it's still difficult. If you're in cooldown, you run the risk of getting hit and losing. You have to play according to her. You're not really allowed to use your spells.
Lucian
Mobility and good kite back. Lucian forces you to go all in. The same applies to most adc with a dash. Before level 6, it's complicated to punish or try to punish. Once you've reached level 6, it's largely playable.
