hi guys this is my first guide and i decided to do it on the champion that i just started playing and it is ryze and i felt that i am confident enough to build a guide for it since i think that i am not playing that bad and decided to share the build that i used to play and hope that it help you guys to get better and better :)(sry for my bad english as my english is very bad :( )

when i first played ryze i was like some of the lazy people out there, not reading finish the guide and just start to play.i just run through a guide in a sec by seeing the item builds and not actually seeing how ryze work so i feed a few games and decided to quit playing ryze.But after watching some stream of one of the top mid lane player (Toyz from TPA) I decided to try out ryze again but reading the guide again and again to make sure i know every single things that i need to know for the ryze and it did work out i had 8/1/13 the first game :) i forgot to take screenshot so i could not show you guys so i will post it other time when i play ryze :) Now ryze become my main and as so i decided to create a guide base of him and help others on ryze and I sincerely hope i did help anyone to get better on ryze and i also will play more games on ryze and see how i can improve my builds and share with you guys.So please finish reading my guide and tell me where i can improve my build :)

Arcane Mastery:THis passive is very good as it give one sec cooldown redction to all the spell when you cast a spell.This passive is very good for the ultimate as when you spam your spell your ultimate will come back very soon
OverLoad: The passive of this skill give up 10% cooldown reduction when you max it which is a lot.(Active): Ryze throws a charge of pure energy at an enemy unit, dealing 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160 (+40% of ability power) magic damage plus additional damage equal to 6.5% of Ryze's maximum mana.This spell is the most painful spell for Ryze and it has a very short cooldown and if you use other spell the cooldown will be shorten by 1 sec which mean you can cast the spell 2 time in a sec if you use other 2 spell
Rune Prison:Ryze traps an enemy unit, preventing them from moving for .75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 second(s) and dealing 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+60% of ability power) magic damage plus 4.5% of Ryze's maximum mana. Both the stun and the dmg is good and it also shorten all your spell by one second because of it passive and it is very good
Spell Flux:Ryze unleashes a bouncing orb of magical power which bounces to enemy units or himself, up to 5 times (for a total of 6 hits). Each bounce deals 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+35% of ability power) (+1% of maximum mana) magic damage and reduces the target's Magic Resistance by 12 / 15 / 18 / 21 / 24. Prioritizes enemy champions.This is good as when you use your ultimate it will then do a lot of aoe dmg and also this spell allow you to farm your cs
Desperate Power:Active: Ryze becomes supercharged for 5 / 6 / 7 seconds, gaining 15 / 20 / 25 % spell vamp, causing his spells to deal 50% AoE damage, and granting him 35/45/55 movement speed.This is one of the best ulimate in the game IMO as it allow ryze to farm very fast with the aoe and also sustain in the lane as it give up spell vega that allow ryze to get hp back

:Why flash?,it is because ryze have lack of escaping skill,what he can only do is using his Rune Prison to run so i would suggest you guys to use this spell so that you can run
:why ghost? Using ghost is for the player that is not so used to ryze so that they can run faster when they got chased or they can chase people when the flash is on cooldown i would suggest this if you were new to ryze and want to play safe
:ingite is the best spell if you know how to cast spell on ryze well because it allow you to kill the enemy faster and more easy
:Teleport is also one of the spell that i would recommend you should use teleport if you are playing premade as it allow you to help your friend and also gank your and let them get a SHOCK
:i would also sugeest you to use this if you are sure you can do very well because you can weaken your enemy and kill them in a sec if you are a very experience ryze player
i would not recommend you to use other spell like Barrier as it only useful against some ap champion that is very weak but for ryze , it never happen if you use my guide

Pros: OVER POWER AFTER SEASON 3 Easy to play Very tank in late game kill people in a second passive is good for ulti

Cons: can be easily kited in early game hard to farm before 6. may be hard to master to full potential very item dependant bad against silences, stuns Kassadin

according to the league of legend patch notes

Ryze is and op champion accoding to toyz... it in chinese by toyz. First of all you need to rush Tear of the Goddess for the first time you get back to base so you don't get back to base before you get enough gold. Because of the cheap Tear of the Goddess he can use the mystery of 9/0/21 and after he got Tear of godness you can then spam his skill with enough mana and also stay on the lane as long as possible. I don't suggest buying a shoes and 3 potion first as after the season 3 patch the speed was then reduced to 25 and the price did not go down and it became kinda useless to ryze and it don't help you to drag your time in the lane and to get more cs to win

The first big item that you should buy is Rod of Ages as it give you mana and health reg when you level up and also give you advantage during the late game as you get addition of 20 Health, 20 Mana, and 2 Ability Power every minute (up to 10 times)which is 200health,200mana and 20 ability point then you get a Seeker's Armguard] if you are against a good adc.You can also chose to get a Archangel's Staff if you manage to stack your 750 mana in time, it is good for ryze because of the season 3 patch as i had mention just now. when you had stack all your mana it will be upgraded to Seraph's Embrace which give you 1000 mana which is a Passive meaning it can stack and also that means that it give you to cast your spell more often and left you with enough mana to run if you need to.The third big item is Frozen Heart as it give you 95 Armor +400 Mana +20% Cooldown Reduction which is a very good advantage for a ryze because of the cooldown reduction and of cos the great armor,mana and also slowing the adc auto attack by 20%.
The next big item is Banshee's Veil,WHY? Why is this item?.I would recommend you to buy this item because of the magic resist it give and it can avoid you been burst down in a sec because of their ap and also it give you some ability power and also the fact that it give you a shield that block any source of spell every 25 sec which is very good.
Last you should buy either a Guardian Angel or a Zhonya's Hourglass. i would suggest you to get a Zhonya's Hourglass instead as it give you a huge amount of ability point and also
Places your champion into Stasis for 2 seconds, rendering you invulnerable and untargetable but unable to take any actions (90 second cooldown) and it every good if someone could just burst you down in a sec you can use the spell and let them waste their spell.
For the shoes you can chose either Mercury's Treads or Sorcerer's Shoes denpending on your enemy.If they have hard cc you should get yourself [Mercury's Treads] if they do not have cc and you want to burst them down in a second i would suggest you to get yourself a Sorcerer's Shoes instead

When do i cast spell ? i do not suggest you to cast any spell on minons until you get yourself a Tear of the Goddess. How do i cast after i got myself a Tear of the Goddess?.First you need to spam your first spell every 3 second as it can stack your Tear of the Goddess which is very good at late game.You also need to harass your enemy by using this Overload then Rune Prison then Spell Flux and follow by Overload JUST TO HARASS to kill someone when you are confident enough, use this Desperate Power then Overloadthen Rune Prison then Spell Flux followed by Overload for a sure kill :)
