Introduction

Hey guys, I'm making this guide for one reason. When I first played Noc I searched for a tank jungle guide. I found none which i really liked. This guide will tell you how to play Noc jungle with the sole purpose of late game carrying potential. I'm not gonna tell you things that you don't need to know just what is above and how to gank. Thanks for looking at my guide and please don't down vote unless you have played it, trust me.

Runes

I take three Movement Speed Quints, this allows early ganks to be a lot more successful as you can stay with them when channeling your E.

I then take 9 Armour penetration Marks for late game damage as nocturne needs very little early game damage.

I then take 9 armour seals which allows me to clear the jungle with reduced damage.

9 magic resist glyphs allow you to gank mid lanes with reduced damage and really helps late game.

Items

This section will state why i decided to pick the items i did.

Starting items

Hunter's machete is the base item for most junglers now, 5 health pots allow you to stay in the jungle for a considerate amount of time.

First back

Rushing a Spirit stone allows you to stay in the jungle without using health pots, also lets you clear creeps faster. Boots make your early ganking potential much stronger and are a must for first back.

Early items

You should either get Mercury's Treads if the enemy team is AP heavy or Ninja Tabi's if the team is AD heavy. Rushing a Spirit of the ancient golem gives you HP, cooldown reduction for your ulti and a large amount of Hp regen and mana regen, this makes your jungle clearance and sustain incredible. Blade of the ruined king is a great item to get early, it reduces the cooldown on your passive as the cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds ever auto attack. Also it's great for the health shred on tanks. The life steal allows your sustain to be great.

Core items / Mid-game

Frozen mallet and Randuin's omen offer large amounts of HP and armour, this really makes Nocturne stand out mid game as he can easily tank. Frozen mallet give 30 AD which helps with carrying along with the 70 armour Randuin's omen gives you.

Last item

This is very much your choice, if you are struggling surviving team fights then consider getting a Warmog's but if you are doing well maybe a Ravenous Hydra or Black cleaver could give you the edge to carry your team to victory!

Creeping / Jungling

I'm not going to talk about jungle roots and gank rotation. Jungle rotation is as normal Blue, Wolves, Wraiths, Golems, Red. I don't feel the need to really go over how to clear the jungle. I always suggest getting a early gank at top then mid will allow your team to get a very early lead on your opponents.

Late game play style

When playing Nocturne late game you should time your ultimate for perfect initiation. First start the team fight using your Q and E on the ADC, then once the enemy team has peeled you off them use your ultimate to re-initiate onto him, if you have Randuin's omen use this to slow the ADC's retreat. This should allow you to take the ADC in pretty much any fight. Also remember to always save your W for an enemy ability which will peel you off the ADC, e.g. Alistar's knockback. With all this in mind you should be ready for the perfect initiate.
