Introduction
Because Olaf is traditionally an AD carry and a top lane bruiser, and he works extremely well off of straight attack power, I choose to set him up with Attack Damage Marks and Attack Speed Quints. I use the pure Armor Seals as a boost to his starting armor so he can stay in lane and farm more creeps than the opposition. I choose the Scaling Magic Resist. Glyphs because, as a top lane bruiser, it's unlikely that you will be facing too much AP to start with and having it build up will help you later in the game.
This is where it gets fun. Olaf benefits greatly from life steal, attack power, and attack speed. On the other hand, he's not an extremely tanky champion so you will need to pay attention to who your opponents are and decide which defensive measures to take against them. If you're getting destroyed in the top lane by an ADC and you keep buying life steal and attack power items, you're doing it wrong. For tips against AP and AD carries, check the cheat sheet and see which items I chose as Olaf's best bet against any opposition.
As I pointed out in the name of the build, Olaf is a BLOODTHIRSTY BERSERKER. My skill sequence focuses on getting Olaf's natural lifesteal to it's maximum level as quickly as possible, while still giving you his Undertow ability to harass in early game and his Reckless Swing to pack a little more punch against those heftier tanks that you will so often face.
The summoner spells I chose are fairly standard to any slower moving AD Carry with no real escape abilities. Flash can help you to run away from a gank or escape an early death. It can also help you to catch the faster ADCs and APCs. Exhaust not only slows your opponent, but also debuffs them. Making them much easier to kill off and keep up with. Exhaust also compliments Undertow greatly in helping you to keep up with, or run away from, 1v1 combat.
