He’s not actually that strong in early lane, don’t play passive
If he wastes his dash, he effectively ccs himself when he q’s, you you can land a free e or q when he q’s
Play around his passive auto. It’s preferable to trade when he wastes his passive auto on a minion.
Boots on first back is solid in this matchup

Lots of dashes, so look for q1 minion q2 ambessa to guarantee your combo. This can be difficult sometimes, just don't throw a q1 in a position where the ambessa can just walk away from ur q2.

Classic mage matchup, respect early, then you can kill in two full combos

Pretty weak champion until she gets trinity force. Most important thing in this matchup is playing around her adaptive shield. Either land a q1 on her from a range and q2, or let her attack first and don't combo until her shield is down.

Cho'Gath

Good matchup unless they w max, which they probably won't do.

Darius

Major

Very hard matchup to play, and it's still difficult to play even with phase rush. The idea here is to go boots and AP components, then play every trade with phase rush so he can never land an e on you. You can win below diamond without a phase rush, but in diamond +, you have to play almost perfectly w/phaserush. The idea with the ap components is that you shouldn’t be getting hit anyways, so max damage per trade, although you do instantly die if you get hit by an e.

Fiora

Very fun matchup. Fiora fundamentals, hugging walls to prevent vitals, position to prevent them etc. The most important thing here is her parry. The issue is that you can’t q1 q2 her, as she can always react with a parry. The easiest way to play around this is to simply walk up and hit her with an unreachable e. Play around with the timings a little bit, and if you hit the e, then you q1 and q2 fiora to not get the bonk. Still does good damage. But if ur gigachad, you q1 fiora (and if they’re bad they try to predict ur q2, not knowing they can react to it), then walk up to her and insta e then q2. You don't have time to e q1 q2 before her parry blocks the q1 q2, so casting ur q1 before e solves that problem.

Gangplank

Good matchup. One fun thing you can do is q1 gp then q2 auto his barrels to kill them from 2 health.

Garen

Don't let him sustain off his passive and get ur q1 out before his silence. Also try not trading into his shield if possible.

Gnar

If you are close enough, he doesn’t have enough time to jump away from ur, although most of the time, because it's a ranged matchup, you should be going with low risk q1 engagements.

Gragas

Used to be good, he just stat checks you now.

Gwen

Trade near tower, she can run you down, but you win burst trades.

Illaoi

Even

High skill floor matchup, but becomes good once you master it. Destroy tentacles, stand behind minions to block her e, and recognize that if she hits her e with no tentacles around, she don't do that much damage.

Irelia

Even

Can run you down, is very strong in minions. Trade near tower.

Jax

Even

Grasp jax is easy, lethal tempo not as much. Trade near tower if lethal tempo. One thing you can do though is, with boots, during his e, you can insta e him to cc him away from you to dodge his e. This is assuming he used his jump to get on top of you though.

Jayce

Even

Classic ranged matchup. Just go for q1 engages, he's kinda squishy.

K'Sante

Major

In lower elo, you poop on K’sante, in higher elo, it's really really difficult. Good luck

Bully early game, and realize that she does indeed have the potential to run you down if you really mess up.

Classic mage matchup. Play to kill them in two combos after level 3.

Can only kill him when he’s off mr.horsie, not too different from the other matchups, it’s the small stuff that really matters!

You kind of have to kill him pre 6 once or twice for it to feel playable. But be aware, if he ults you from out of ur tower range ur just dead. This is very difficult for zac. For example, on sidelane, even if ur up 2000 gold in items, he will win sidelane with ult. Very bad.

Nasus

Do not let him get a single stack for free.

Olaf

Can run you down level 1, trade under tower. Not that bad of a matchup though.

Ornn

Bleh. A decent ornn will w all ur cc. Can win though.

Pantheon

Not that bad, just don’t dump everything on his shield, and a friendly reminder that you can hit the side of him that isn’t covered.

Poppy

Major

Everything here is not standing near walls to prevent the cc from her dash and playing around her w. She can’t react to an insta e if ur standing on top of her though, and if she wastes it or you bait it out, then you demolish.

Renekton

Even

Play around his rage. Most of his damage comes from empowered w.

Riven

Even

You have to give priority level 1. She can chunk you if you walk up to wave, although do it if she allows you to for some reason. Big thing for this matchup is landing ur e while she’s in her q3 animation to cancel it. Also you can’t throw out q1’s at her, she has a lot of dashes.

Rumble

Even

Not very popular right now, but kind of a hard matchup. Play around his overheat, he is very strong when he overheats! It’s kind of like a ranged matchup, just go for low risk q1’s.
