My name is Rasmus, I'm 20 years old, I'm born and raised in Denmark and I'm a professional League of Legends player/coach
I've been playing League of Legends for about 9 years, started back in Season 1 and got to high elo in season 3, peaking challenger for the first time in season 4, and been challenger ever since.
In season 8 i peaked Rank 13 on EUW with 922 lp, and in S9 i have peaked 1190 LP RANK 1

In this guide I'm gonna explain how i play , at the highest level on the soloq ladder (Challenger)

Matchups

Skarner is a really good blind pick as he doesent really have any hard matchups that will smash him. He has a huge movementspeed lead throughout the game making him able to choose his fights.
So if you pick your fights smartly, then you shouldnt be able to die 1v1.

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Forcing enemy to buy QSS
+ High mobility
+ Chain CC
+ AoE Slow
+ High damage output early
+ Playmaking potential with ult
+ Really safe blind pick

Skarner is really good to blind pick, is really good when playing ahead aswell.
You will force the enemy team to buy QSS, and that can really hurt them when they need to spend 1300 gold for an defensive item, especially when they are playing from behind, as they will lack in damage. He has also really easy combos, using Ult into E for a CC chain, and quite forward playstyle

Cons

- Has a limited playstyle
- Needs to get into melee range
- Isn't the best playing from behind

Skarner can easily lack a bit if playing from behind, since you can't do the same plays as if you were playing from ahead. You need to look for picks if you fall behind. Also enemy team will buy QSS if they are ahead faster, which means your champion becomes a bit useless against them if they bought QSS

Runes

Which rune should i go for, and why?

Ingenious Hunter is a really good rune on Skarner, giving him more Predators, Glorys, Gargoyle etc. is really in his best favor, but you also have to take in mind before the game, if you are actually going to build those items, of if you are going towards Dead mans plate, Knights vow and Warmogs, cus then Relentless hunter might be way better

How do i gank, what pathing should i take?

Skarner is a pretty straight forward jungle champion, you dont need to take any specific pathink or go for any specific lanes to gank, as you have really strong ganks with your E slow + stun, and your pathing should just be a standard one where you are going for lvl 3
But this could be a good example of a pathing that could work - the (5) means that its what you should do as your 5th thing, either look for a gang or take another camp, works for both sides, just mirror the picture
