Vi Shield Support Build (WIP)

By spartanamy107
Who I am
I'm Ahsoka, I've been a Support main in League of Legends since I started early into season 9, and been a Support main in every game with a support class since 2005.

I love both Meta and Off-Meta supports, my favourite Meta Supports being Sona, Leona, Soraka and Senna, my favourite Off-Meta Supports being Ashe and Vi.

I don't pretend to be the greatest support player, just a dedicated support player who tries to have fun playing the class I love, my builds might not be optimal, but they'll be fun.
Why Vi Support?
I first played VI support over a year ago, when the Warriors trailer came out, I was a big Caitlyn and Vi shipper, and loved how they synergies, so I created a build that allowed Vi to compete in that role, creating plays for the ADC, specifically Caitlyn, this idea was rekindled when Arcane came out, and because we were understaffed at work I had very little time to play League, so this is mostly untested, but it is very very good into Enchanter supports, or supports with very little mobility, but once Vi starts getting items, her map presence can be tough to contend with, you'll usually see enemies trying to avoid you if they are alone.
This build specifically.
While I couldn't play as much as I'd like, I set about creating a build for VI, that plays into her strengths, a build that gave her more attack speed, more sustain, more shields, and I think I struck gold with this build, as it has a little of everything except too much Damage, but as a support, your job is not pure damage output.

This build should allow you to frontline considerably well in both short and long skirmishes.

The runes and items allow Vi to be pretty self-sufficient, giving her loads of shields, with mana and health regen, and Last Stand, just to make her even more just that little bit more annoying to take down, once she is low.

As I said before, this won't be the most optimal build, but it will definitely be fun.

The idea is that Vi's passive shield will be bolstered by more shields in this build, and banking on the fact that the anti-shield item is built only in 1.7% of all matches, VI should have good sustain to stay in the fight almost indefinitely once this build gathers momentum. Presence of Mind and support item giving you Mana, Sterak's Gage and Last Stand synergising to keep you alive in fights, and once a particular fight is over Warmogs should top your health off before the next fight.
Early game.
In the beginning, you should have Vi, levelling up, protecting your ADC with your positioning, getting your support item farm, and punishing enemy missteps, you can go in when necessary, but try to make sure your ADC is in position to do the necessary damage to capitalise on your efforts.

When it is possible, ward and help with early Drakes, you are fast enough to roam, just don't do it when your ADC is in danger, VI's base movement speed is good, so greatly benefits from Boots fo Swiftness, Mobility Boots, or if you need extra armour or magic resist, you can get the other necessary boots should you so require.
Mid Game
Hopefully, by this point, you have an item or two, your Tear of the Goddess is stacked up, you have your Mythic item, more than a few assists, maybe even a kill, you should be starting to feel your tankyness growing, with every new item, you become the Brawler Vi usually is, just with more health and shields, but less damage.

Don't forget to keep warding objectives, you are still the support, and have the mobility to do it and escape if you get collapsed upon.
Late Game
Are you winning? If so, amazing work! If not, try to stay positive, wait for the enemy to make a mistake, and remember to go down fighting! If in doubt, punch the enemies!

When the late game occurs you should have most of your build completed, Warmogs, last item, along with the Elixer.
The Goal
This is the damage calculator setting I devised for this build, hopefully, to help you understand how this all works.

You gain multiple shields in combat, your items bolster them and add more shields, if you ever go below 30% health Last Stand makes you do more damage, and Sterak's Gage gives you another shield, if you win the fight, Warmogs will top off your health, Presence of Mind will replenish your Mana enough to either continue fighting or retreat to safety, and your movement speed is a decent 405.
