Master Yi Passive Ability
Introduction
My name is Peter and I'm currently at high school. I play quite a lot of LOL and this is going to be my first attempt at a proper build guide. I'm doing this on Master Yi because I've found that he is an easy character to play as at all levels. This guide will be aimed at at beginners, because that is what I am at making guides, but some more advanced players may look at this and find it useful.
Master Yi is a great character for players at all levels. He can be used as an ADC, AP mid, jungler or as a tank (but not very effectively). This guide will be showing you how to play him as an ADC, whereas my next one will be all about AP Yi. I find Master Yi one of the best ADCs and he has recently replaced Xin Zhao as my favourite non ranged ADC.
Master Yi is a great champion, but like all champions he has some weaknesses.
Great at last hitting minions early game
High AD early game due to wuju style
Great at chasing and 1 vs 1s
One of the fastest champions (even without his ultimate)
Ultimate is great for escaping and chasing
Quite squishy early on
No AOE abilities (Alpha strike not included)
Passive is not the best (unless high AD & DPS)
Without meditate basing is regularly required
Relies on items before totally owning
For a super effective Alpha strike a fair amount of luck is required

Ignite
This spell is extremely useful in many situations. If you are just not as fast as your opponents, this will finish them off, and reduce their healing greatly. If being chased by a low health enemy you can cast it to dissuade them. In 1 vs 1 fights ignite can change the course of the fight by giving that extra little bit of damage, and reducing their healing.
Flash
This spell is pretty much mandatory. It has so many uses, like repositioning yourself for the gank, running away, catching your enemy to finish them off. It is such a useful spell with many uses.
Ghost
Personally I don't think this is a very useful spell, as highlander is a better alternative and flash can also be used in some situations where ghost is useful.
Smite
Smite is a must have for junglers. It's cooldown is tiny and it deals true damage, however if you aren't playing jungler you would be mad to take it.
Exhaust
Personally I never take exhaust on to the battlefield. The effects of it don't last long and it only has 2 main uses; chasing and running away. Flash and Highlander both do these much more effectively.

Passive
Master Yi's passive is not amazing, but in late game when he has high AD and DPS it is great.
Alpha Strike
This is an exceptional ability , because it gets you in close to your enemy when chasing them. It also gets lots of gold at the start through slaying minions. If you have blue then it has very little cooldown and mana regenerates much faster so you can pretty much spam it.
Meditate
Meditate is often underrated and that is extremely unfair. It is handy being able to quickly heal without having to go all the way back to your base and if piled then the armour and MR bonuses are very useful. It is however pretty high in mana
Wuju Style
Wuju style... What can I say? It has to have one of the best passives for any attack damage champion. at level one it gives 15 AD. 15! that means you can quite easily have over 100 AD at the start. This is one of my favourite abilities for AD characters and for me it would wreck master Yi to get rid of Wuju style.
Highlander
For chasing and 1 vs 1 fights this ability is invaluable. The kill for cooldown is extremely useful, however in team fights it is next to useless unless you are chasing to finish the enemy off.

This will give a quick description of the final Items I have recommended.
Beserker's Greaves -
For me, any AD champion is best with either Beserker's greaves or boots of swiftness , as they offer stuff best suited to them.
Frozen Mallet -
I find this item extremely useful. It gives lots of health, a fair bit of AD and the passive is truly amazing as the slow gives offensive and defensive options.
The Bloodthirster -
The Bloodthirster is my favourite AD item in the game. It gives massive AD and great life steal. All it takes is five minutes of spam jungling to get it fully stacked.
Phantom Dancer -
For a hand combat champion, this is probably the best attack speed item. It increases your attack speed by 50% as well as giving all sorts of other bonuses.
Infinity edge -
Some argue that joint with the Trinity Force , this is the best items in the game. It gives masses of AD, and the bonuses it gives on critical strike are unreal. For any good AD character, this should be bought.
The defensive options
The three defensive items I put at the end are by far my favourite. All three of them have brilliant unique passives and for the Warmog's armour, the health bonus is fantastic. It really depends on the situation of the game. If your enemies have loads of magic damage, then you could even buy an abyssal sceptre to improve meditate.

I must thank you all for reading my guide and tolerating how unsophisticated it is, as it is only my first build (apart from my Gangplank one where I just put the item order). I would appreciate it if you rate it and leave a comment so I can make it better and do good guides in the future.
Thanks all,
Petermination
