Introduction
Olaf The Berserker.
On an uncharted continent beyond Valoran's grasping clutches, the conqueror named Olaf was born to a long tradition of soldiers unlike most others. Berserkers, as they tout themselves, are warriors who channel fury deep from their cores, unleashing pure and savage wrath upon their enemies. This fearsome evolution is a product of their unforgiving home, Lokfar - a barren tundra where all creatures must vie bitterly for every resource. Olaf belonged to a seafaring clan known for ruthlessly pillaging any and all villages within reach of their dragon-crested longboats. The last time he saw his icy home,
Olaf was embarking on an expedition to pioneer and plunder a distant land known only to legend. However, while underway, a terrible storm sprung up and Olaf and his crew were thrown to the mercy of a roiling and pitiless sea.
His ship destroyed, his crew nowhere to be found, Olaf miraculously washed up untold miles from ''friendly'' waters on the foreign shores of Valoran, south of Demacia. This unfamiliar place stunned and frightened the Berserker, for Lokfar is not privy to such potent magicians. Approaching them,
Olaf hoped that they could use their mysterious powers to send him back to his people. A bargain was struck.
Olaf would use his awesome prowess as a warrior to serve the unusual wars of Valoran in the League of Legends, and in exchange the sorcerers would find him a way to return. Despite his participation in the League,
Olaf knows better than to trust the ''finger wagglers'' that run the Institute of War. He deliberately keeps details of his life and home from them. After all, with enough information, they would most certainly find the Lokfarians and dominate them as they have dominated all of Valoran, keeping both quietly -- and unwittingly -- in their thrall.
Beware the war cry of the Berserker. What surges toward you is unyielding, free from the shackles of reason.

You should use Attack Damage Quintessences, Attack damage Marks, Armor Seals and Magic resist per level Glyphs. Attack damage is a good idea for Olaf since he will have a pretty easy laning phase and will be able to trade with his opponent 90% of the time. You are a tank so you must have Armor and Magic resist. But if you are jungling take Movement speed Quintessences for much better gqanks, Seals and Glyphs should stay the same, and take that extra Armor pen. Marks.

Runes

Your Masteries focus should be on a little bit of damage and tankiness. Put 9points on Attack and 21 on Defense, but if you want to go more damage olaf go for 21/9. It's good for Olaf because he is a lot more op with that extra tankiness. The jungle runes are a little bit different but focus on tankiness is the same.

Best starter for Solo-top is
Cloth Armor and 3 Health Pots. It gives you enough armor and you can stay on lane longer with health pots. Go back and buy
Ninja Tabi or if you have extremely AP solo top buy
Mercury's Treads. Buy
Phage and
Avarice Blade for some Critical strike, first build
Phage to
Frozen Mallet and then
Avarice Blade to
Atma's Impaler.
Frozen Mallet is a must when playing as a Olaf. Proceed to
Giant's Belt and build it to
Warmog's Armor. Warmog is good because Health regen and a lot of Health points. You must buy some magic resist if enemy team have at least one strong AP.
Spirit Visage is a great item to not die so fast against AP opponents. Because
Olaf is a Tanky AD so you must buy some damage. Buy
Tiamat and then build it into
Ravenous Hydra. Buy some Elixir's when finish.
Olaf can't die when he finish his build he can go 5v1 and still get out with 3 kills..

Yeah, you can buy GP10 if you want to, but because this build is really tanky focused and you can dominate opponents so you get really much farm, you probably don't need to buy them, I sometimes go with Philosopher's stone, or Avarice Blade, it's really matter of situation, if you are playing bad, go with GP10, if you are playing well, and winning your lane, there is no need to buy them, because you will be able to buy more items at the first place
Avarice Buy it if you want to get some critical strike and money, really important if you got ganked and died for first blood or if you are behind your opponents, can help you really a lot, there's no need to buy it if you are owning your opponent.
Philosopher's Stone If you want to harass your opponent and use more mana, you can buy this, it will give you extra gold, mana reg. and health reg., buy it if opponent goes agressive on you, or you are losing top

First you must unlock
Undertow for harassing an opponent. You should max it second. At level 2 unlock
Tough It Out for early Life steal and Bonus Attack damage.
Tough It Out should be Maxed at level 18. At level 5 unlock
Reckless Swing and max it at level 9,
Reckless Swing is
Olaf primary damage ability, it has true damage but deals it a little bit back to
Olaf. Unlock
Ragnarok at level 6, 11 and 16.

I usually take
Ghost to rush in team fights first, tank and kill the carries, it's the best choice for Solo top Olaf.
Flash is primary Spell for almost every champion but not for Olaf better take
Ghost, you can us it for chasing or escaping. Take
Smite and
Ghost if you want to jungle. Secondary Options are
Ignite, Exsaust, Flasg,
Heal
Good choice if you want to take it before
Ignite, you don't lose much xp when you recall because you can come back fast, go help team when it's needed, you can be everywhere on the map.
Can be used for escaping or chasing champions, very good because you can activate it over the walls, but I prefer
Ghost. Primary spell on almost every champion.
Good spell for chasing or escaping and to rush in the fight, you get amazing speed, if you jungle it's the best option because it can be activated with Olaf's Ragnorok so almost nobody can get you.
Good spell for shutting down AD carries, or AP carries in team fights, and in 1v1 fights
I use this spell alot, take it, it will help you in many situations, you can go top with it, it's a good counter healing so if you have someone like
Vladimir or
Dr. Mundo on top it's a must
I don't use this spell often, but I take it when I need some extra healing for longer stay on the lane.
You need to take it if you go jungling.
Are you a support ? o.O
Good early game, but nothing to do with it late game on
Olaf
LOL, don't take it, really not good for
Olaf
You have your ultimate that it's like cleanse, just better.
If you take it, delete the game, just kidding, useless spell ever.

I use this build in ranked almost every time. It's very hard to get countered, try to harass opponent and farm minions as much as you can. Opponents are always going to look for you weak points and for ganks, so try to find their too and don't push too much or you want to die? Let there minions too push don't play aggressively if you can't win a lane, it's going to make you just rage. In lane If you throw an
Undertow try to chase your opponent and land
Reckless Swing too. You must be tanky and probably go first to the fights, try to focus their carry..

This should be your jungling route. Start at blue buff and Buy

Reckless Swing
+Easy to chase opponents.
+A lot of damage for being tanky.
+Brolaf
CONS

-Hurts himself with

Try to use only basic attacks so you don't ran out of mana with you axe, if you aren't able to farm, like if your playing solo top against two opponents, get back to the tower and hit last minions in tower with your own tactic. Use
Tough It Out for healing back on minions if you are low hp, you really need farm, so ask for ganks if you can't.

Try to farm minions without using
Undertow, last hit them so you don't push to much. If you go jungle start at Blue buff, And first unlock
Undertow which is a must when you go Jungling. Next unlock
Undertow and kill wolfs. Procede to Wraiths and kill them than go to Red buff and use Smite. Go to Golems, recall and gank.

Team work? You are Olaf, let kills to AD carries if you can, save allies, go first in fights, tank turrets, try landing
Undertow in a fight for initiate then carry can easily fight because they are slowed
