Conqueror
This rune is great on Renekton because on top of giving you an AD boost it also increases your healing at 10 stacks which is great for Renekton, also it is pretty easyreach 10 stacks since your Auto attacks give 2 stacks and your abilities as well which you can combo pretty fast with Renekton nearly stacking the whole thing to 10.
Triumph
Not to much to say about this rune it can just be really clutch in certain scenarios and has savved me a lot of times.
Legend:Tenacity
Tenacity is very valuable on Renekton since you get CC'd and kited so often and you have to really go all in with Renekton in teamfights.
Coup de Grace
I like coup on Renekton personally, this rune just gives us a bit of extra damage.
Demolish
Demolish is great on Renekton and allows him to shred turrets, your kill pressure at level 6+ is really strong when you have ultimate up so you can usually get a kill plus a turret plating or two with the help of Demolish.
Bone Plating
Boneplating is amazing on Renekton because it helps so much with trading, and you're going to be E'ing in and comboing them then E'ing out in lane for quick value trades, sometimes they get an auto or two or ability off on you when you do this, so boneplating absorbs a lot of damage in small trades like this.
Flash: This is a must on most champions, and the same goes for Renekton. A quick Flash is way more useful then movement speed on Renekton, especially if you need to flash + Ruthless Predator(W).
Teleport: I usually pick teleport when playing Renekton; I just find it super useful in general, especially in games where you need to splitpush. Though, I don't think Ignite is bad choice on Renekton either, and it can allow you to stomp lane even harder, but keep in mind it may be harder to end games.

Renekton gains 5 fury per autoattack. When out of combat for 12 seconds, he loses 4 fury every second.
When Renekton is below 50% health he generates 50% more fury from all sources.
When at/above 50 Fury, Renekton's next basic ability consumes 50 Fury to enhance its effects (does not generate Fury). |
Reign of Anger: This seems like a pretty simple passive, but it can be insane if you can learn to play around it. When Renekton is at or above 50 fury, then it will enhance his abilities, with each ability gaining a different bonus. Also remember that you cap at 100 fury, and gain 50% more fury when you're below 50% health, which can be super clutch if you play your cards right. You gain fury by auto attacking, granting 5 fury per auto attack. Your abilities will also give you a bit of fury as well, for instance, when Dominus(ult) is active, you'll gain 20 fury plus 5 per second. Try to pay attention to your Fury to the best of your ability, it's very important for securing kills or winning a trade a lot of the time. |

Renekton swings his blade, dealing 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+0.8 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to nearby enemies and healing for 3 / 4.5 / 6 / 7.5 / 9 (+0.04 per bonus attack damage) for each non-champion hit and 9 / 13.5 / 18 / 22.5 / 27 (+0.12 per bonus attack damage) for each champion hit, up to a hard cap of 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 HP.
In addition, he generates 2.5 Fury for each non-champion hit and 10 Fury for each champion hit, up to a maximum of 30 Fury.
When Renekton has more than 50 Fury, he deals 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 / 270 (+1.2 per bonus attack damage) and heals for 9 / 13.5 / 18 / 22.5 / 27 (+0.08 per bonus attack damage) for each non-champion hit and 27 / 40.5 / 54 / 67.5 / 81 (+0.24 per bonus attack damage) for every champion hit, up to a hard cap of 150 / 225 / 300 / 375 / 450 HP. Consumes 50 Fury. |

Cull the Meek: This ability is key to winning a lot of lanes and also functions as a very effective wave clear. It acts as instant damage, as well as a healing source so you have a bit of sustain. When you're empowered (over 50 fury), Cull the Meek does 50% more damage, and also triples the healing cap, so it can be used to heal up a ton of HP. |

Renekton's next attack gains 50 bonus range and swings twice, dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit (applies on hit effects) and stunning his target for 0.75 seconds. If Renekton attacks an enemy champion, he gains 10 Fury.
When Renekton has more than 50 Fury, his next attack will swing three times dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit (applies on hit effects) and stunning his target for 1.5 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury.
Ruthless Predator: This ability is crazy early game. To put it simply, it's two auto attacks in one, that also stuns for a bit, allowing you can get even more damage off. This ability is also insane if you're empowered (over 50 fury), while empowered you'll strike 3 times and do 50% increased damage, as well as stun for longer. I'd recommend to use this over Cull the Meek(Q) empowerment unless you really need the heal, especially since it stuns for longer. Another thing to mention with this ability is it has a little bit more range then your auto attack, so keep that in mind if you're just barely out of range. |

Slice: Renekton dashes forward, dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) damage to targets along the way and generating 2 Fury per non-champion hit. If he hits an enemy he gains the ability to use Dice for 4 seconds.
Dice: Renekton dashes, dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) damage along the way. For each champion hit, Renekton gains 10 Fury while all other targets hit grant 2 Fury instead. When Renekton has more than 50 Fury during Dice, he deals 55 / 100 / 145 / 190 / 235 (+1.35 per bonus attack damage) additional damage and shreds the armor of targets he hits by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% for 4 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury. |
Slice and Dice: This is Renektons mobility ability, and is quite good in lane since it can be used to dash in trade real quick, and then dash out; I'll go further into detail on that combo in the trading section. I should also note that you must hit an enemy with your first dash to get your second dash, it's vital to securing the combo, so try your hardest not to miss. Something super important to know about this ability is that the first cast will NOT use any of your fury, Even if you're empowered (over 50 fury); this is super important to know, since a lot of the time you do not want use your fury bar to empower your E. Keep in mind if you do use your second dash, then it will use your fury bar, and empower your E. |
Renekton empowers himself with dark energies, gaining 20 fury, increased size and 250 / 500 / 750 health for 15 seconds. While empowered, he deals 40 / 80 / 120 (+10% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies and generates 5 Fury per second. |
Dominus: This ability is super solid; it's awesome for both 1v1 duels, as well as team fights. Basically, you gain flat bonus health, 25 bonus attack range, and 20 fury, as well as doing magic damage AOE around you, similar to Sunfire Aegis. This ability also generates 5 fury per second, meaning you're going to be able to empower a few abilities. This ultimate is just super solid, and does a ton of things for you; There have been lots of times that I have straight won a 2v1 against the jungler while getting ganked because of this ultimate. |

Trading with Renekton
Since Renekton does not use mana, and his abilities are strong in lane, you're going to want to learn how to trade effectively during the laning phase.
The most common thing you will see Renekton players do is E( Slice and Dice) in at you, auto attack, Q( Cull the Meek), auto attack, W( Ruthless Predator), auto attack and then E( Slice and Dice) back out. This may sound like a lot, but you can pull this combo off pretty quickly once you get it down. It's great for trading since you will take hardly any damage if any at all sometimes. All of Renektons abilities flow pretty nicely with auto attacking, and Ruthless Predator(W) is also an auto reset, so make sure you're taking advantage of that.
-> Auto ->
-> Auto ->
-> Auto ->
Another important thing to do before doing this trade is to try to make sure you at least have some fury built up, preferably enough to empower Cull the Meek(Q), Ruthless Predator(W), or both, depending on the situation. Keep in mind that using your first Slice and Dice(E) to dash in will never use up your fury even if you're over 50 fury. |

I start W level one because it's two auto attacks in one, as well as a mini stun, which is super strong level 1 and can give you a huge lane advantage early on. not to mention you don't really need the sustain from Q yet and it can be bad to hard push the wave in that early since most junglers come top around 2:30-3:00 mins now, and that's also the reason I take E next is because I don't want to push the lane too hard, and it also allows you a way to get your W off if you need to or also escape a gank. |

Renekton is super flexible when it comes to items, with Black Cleaver and Tiamat being your two key items. You can kind of build whatever you want, or whatever best suits the current match You are in. I'm going to list my general build but feel free to buy any of the situational items if they're good in your match.
- Starting Builds -
- Against Ranged -
- Against Melee -
Doran's Shield + HP Potion
The only time I'd recommend starting with this when if you're against a ranged matchup and you're worried about losing, or if you're not comfortable with pressuring a ranged champion.
Doran's Blade + HP Potion
I usually always start doran's blade on renekton, especially when in a melee matchup. You have a dominant laning phase, and you want as much attack damage as possible so you can win early on.
- Full Build -
Tiamat
Black Cleaver
This is a very strong item on Renekton; it gives some extra attack damage as well as some waveclear, as well as a good build path for future items. Another cool thing about this item is you can use it at the same time as Cull the Meek(Q), so it adds a little bit of damage to your combo. Tiamat also gives a little bit of health regen, which is more sustain which is always nice in the top lane. You'll want to upgrade this item later to Titanic Hydra, but not right away as there are other more useful items that you'll want to grab first.
You're going to want to get this as your first complete item in just about everygame that you play Renekton. The stats Black Cleaver gives are perfect for Renekton, especially the 20% cdr since Renekton doesnt use mana and relies on cooldowns. The health and attack damage boosts give a solid bump, and the added armor shred adds even more damage to your combo, so in general it's just a super solid item.
OR
Ninja Tabi / Merc's Treads
Thornmail
Upgrade Boots into Ninja Tabis or Mercury Treads.
If they have more attack damage or auto attack based champions then get ninja tabi's, if they have more ability power and crowd control then pick up merc treads.
I really like this item since it gives HP now on top of armor, as well as giving three passives basically which are grievous wounds, reflecting damage, and slowing attack speed, overall I think this item is really good in a wide variety of matches, but still somewhat situational.
Titanic Hydra
Sterak's Gage
You're going to want to upgrade your Tiamat into a titanic hydra unless you're going full split push. If you're going for a full splitpush build then you can go with Ravenous Hydra, but that makes you super squishy so I wouldn't recommend it a lot of the time. The active on Titanic Hydra also counts as an auto reset, which i s super useful for adding more damage into your combo.
This item seems pretty good since they updated it; it's a little bit more expensive, but gives more stats now so it's worth it in my opinion. I find it good on Renekton since health and attack damage are two stats you can't get enough of while playing him, and the shield is nice for absorbing a lot of damage in teamfights.
Guardian Angel
This is a somewhat situational item, but I think it's very good as a last item since the extra life can mean so much in a majority of games. It also gives armor and attack damage, which are both pretty good stats to have when playing Renekton; it's also semi cheap, which is nice since all of your other items are pretty expensive.
- Situational Items -
Randuin's Omen
Spirit Visage
If you want to be more on the tankier side and less on the damage side then this is a solid item choice and works well on renekton, just remember to use the active.
This item is good on renekton if they have a bunch of AP characters, since it gives cooldown reduction and icreased healing which will help Cull the Meek(Q).
Adaptive helm
Blade of the Ruined King
This item is very situational, only build this if they have AP characters that spam the same ability. If you're against something like Cassiopeia in the top lane for whatever reason, this item can be really good since it'll make her do practically nothing.
This item is actually pretty good on renekton, but you'll only really want to go for it if they have multiple tanks and you want to be able to do damage to them.
Gargoyle Stoneplate
Super situational item, if you want to be super tanky on renekton and already have a bunch of HP items I don't think this is a bad buy.
Laning phase is one of Renektons strongest factors; you should be able to win most matchups and sometimes hard stomp some of them. Since Renekton is manaless and does a ton of damage early game while also not taking much damage if you can combo right, the most important thing to get down is trading. One big thing to focus on while trading is to make sure you're getting auto attacks in between your abilities; this is super important for maximizing damage while trading as every bit of damage counts. |
Another thing to pay close attention to while laning with Renekton is your fury bar. An empowered Ruthless Predator(W) means more damage as well as longer stun, which could secure the kill, while an empowered Cull the Meek(Q) could save you if you're about to die. In this way, paying attention to your fury is very important; you'll want whatever spell you're going to empower to be off cool down when you have enough fury so you can be most effective.
Since your fury doesn't start draining until 12 seconds out of combat, it'll pretty much never decay in laning since you can always auto a minion to reset the timer. You can also use your fury bar as a zoning tool to scare enemy champions off minions and make them respect you. I see quite a few Renekton players get too eager with their fury, and even sometimes just waste it on Q'ing a minion wave for more damage, avoid doing that so you can keep pressure on the enemy champion.
Another quick tip I can give for laning is to try to be unpredictable in your movement and how you're going to go in for a trade; I think this is really important on "simple" champions to surprise your opponent or catch them off guard. An example of this would be walking back as if you're backing off, and then using Slice and Dice(E) to jump in and surprise them. |
I'd also recommend not using Slice and Dice(E) whenever it is off cool down. Even though Slice and Dice(E) makes for a nice trade, you're pretty vulnerable when it is down; try to use it at times where you think you're safe, or if you have wards. Feel free to use it if you think you can 1v2 the gank though, you can probably win as long as you have Dominus(ult) and play it well. Trading without using Slice and Dice(E) is actually still very strong, and you can still trade successfully quite often by using Ruthless Predator(W) when they walk up to cs.
My last tip for laning with Renekton is to really try your best to win small trades and to really have the "small victories" mindset. This is really important on a champion like Renekton since he falls off a bit late game; you'll want that early lead in lane so you can still be useful in some type of way later. In my experience renekton really has the tools to win small trades, and even zone really well in a lot of the laning phase so keep those small victories in mind while laning.
Renekton can be a very good split pusher if you choose to play him as one. In games where your team doesn't have strong team fighting, I'd recommend split pushing since sometimes drawing pressure away and splitting the enemy team up can be more beneficial. |
While split pushing with Renekton you'll want to be cautious of your fury and be careful to not waste Slice and Dice(E) as well, just in case you have to 1v2. You'll always want to pay close attention to your minimap, and count how many people on the map are missing that could potentially be coming for you.
You'll also want to be looking to see what your team is doing, and if they'll need your help taking an objective that you need to Teleport to. However, Teleporting in might not always be the right answer; you want to try to gauge to your best ability if pushing the turrets is more worth it, or if Teleporting into the team objective will make a difference. I can't really tell you which to do outright since every game is different, however, I can say you'll generally want to Teleport if the team is going for baron or elder dragon; if it's a choice over something like an inhibitor turret / inhibitor and an ocean drag, then it might be better to try to go for the inhibitor. In most cases it really just depends on the match, and as a splitpusher that is something you will just have to learn to gauge. As a last note I'll also add that if you think your team comp has a better team fight overall, then it's probably worth it to Teleport into the fight in most cases. |
Basically, your goal while splitpushing should be to draw pressure to whichever lane you're in, either trying to eventually get a turret, or draw enough pressure to where they send more then one person down to you and then your team gets something out of it. Keep in mind that sometimes you'll have to be very patient when splitpushing, and your team may not understand how to do it correctly. Be prepared to be blamed for ****ing everything, even if you make the right choices. |
Team fighting on renekton can be very tricky, and sometimes you just feel kind of useless; the best tips I can give for this is to play around your fury, especially if you're Teleporting into a team fight. In all cases try to make sure you have at least above 50 fury since at this point in the game your empowered abilities are still going to do a decent amount but your normal abilities won't do that much. |
Another thing is try your best to get the most out of Dominus(ult). Dominus is actually pretty strong late game in a team fight; its area of effect magic damage lasts for awhile, and with the fury bonus it gives you, it should be able to get some empowered abilities off with it and soak up some damage for your team. Some games if you can just soak up enough damage in a team fight with Renekton then you've done your job.
My biggest tip for team fighting would just be to try to stay alive and don't do anything too crazy late game. Be aware that Renekton isn't as strong as it was in lane, I see too many Renekton players that go overly aggro even in the late game because they crushed lane and still think they're strong. Try to be smart and stay alive while dealing a good amount of damage; don't go diving all in with both of your Slice and Dice(E) procs on their back line trying to kill their adc, because most of the time you will just get CC'd or not even have the damage to kill them fully if their support is near. |
Renekton doesn't have very good engage, and I wouldn't recommend to go all in with him unless you're confident you can get an empowered Ruthless Predator(W) on a squishy target. If you're able to do this then it is pretty good lock down as long as your team can follow up, and if you decide to do this you should preferably go after one of their carries. In most cases I split push with Renekton and try to Teleport into a fight that has already begun and peel for my teammates and soak as much damage as I can, while just generally being in their faces and being obnoxious. |
Overall I think Renekton is a fun champion to play, and is great if you feel like winning lane or want something that is relatively safe in lane. He does fall off a bit in the late game, but don't let that stop you for learning him because at the end of the day he is still a tank that is capable of absorbing loads of damage while also being able to deal a bunch out. Although he does fall off late game, just the fact of how strong he is in the early game makes up for that in my opinion. Essentially, he is still a decent champion that is capable of having an impact late game if played correctly. I think if you're trying to learn Renekton, I would try to focus on these things in order of importance: trading, movement, fury management, and splitpushing; Renekton is a bit more more complex than just this, but focusing and learning these things will give you a good start to figuring out the quirks of how to play him.
Thanks for reading my Renekton guide; if you liked it, or it helped you out at all, then let me know in the comments. If you think I left something out, then go ahead and let me know as well, I always enjoy hearing feedback whether it be positive or negative. Thanks again for reading and I hoped it helped in someway. |

 Editor / Fomatters Notes
HeyGuys,
I added more sections for this guide since Goliath went into more detail regarding some aspects of the champion, so I hope you like it. I actually got sent the rough draft for this guide like a week ago, but I decided to be a sad POS and didnt really work on it, so sorry for that :p. I guess I could start putting more stuff in the formatters notes, but whatever, I don't even put my username in this and no one probably even reads this bit so I guess it doesn't really matter lol.
Oh, if you're in the USA go write to congress about net neutrality, I don't want slow downs when I'm trying to find hentai doujins. Can you imagine having to pay a subscription service to your ISP for porn? What is this the 1980's? **** that noise dude.
Special thanks to jhoijhoi for their guide on formatting.
If you haven't read it, and plan on making guides, then I HIGHLY pressure you to check it out here.
Thanks to everyone who upvotes this guide as well, and anyone who compliments it, it actually means a lot.
If you have any questions on how I formatted this, the answers lie in Jhoijhois guide, the building blocks for anything you could need is included there for the most part.
If you're apprehensive to learning BBCode, then I can tell you that its not really that hard to learn. I learned it in a day, and I'm an idiot.
If you have any opinions on how to better the readability of the guide, my ears are open, just shoot out a comment and I'll try to figure something out.
Blah.
