Leona Thunderlords
Introduction

This isn't so much a guide on Leona but simply a different way Leona can be played to climb SOLOQ. These are builds I personally use for my own aggressive playstyle. If you're a conventional support player who focuses on utility and buying the same "supporty" items every game regardless of the team comp, this may not be the build(s) for you.
I've used these builds for almost every single game since bronze, The only time I EVER deviate from them is if I'm in a promotional game and we have ABSOLUTELY NO tanks and NO initiators...then I use a somewhat utility based keystone mastery and tank runes to be somewhat of a reliable tank for my team. Otherwise? I go full cheese mode and carry like a real support should ")
Some tips I've learned while roaming in SOLOQ
-
Always ping to your adc be careful when you're going to roam, they will most likely still play aggressive and just rage at you when they get dove on.
Only roam when the reward is greater than the risk. for example if the lane is pushing into your tower and your adc isn't behind, it's probably best to focus on your own lane until the time is right.
The best time I've found to roam if you have absolutely no idea when to do so, is RIGHT after you back. Instead of going back to lane, head down mid and see if you can grab a quick kill.
Leona's movement speed is 335, which puts her in the low/mid tier of movement speed. Meaning almost every champion can out run you. This makes running away and chasing to get in range for an ULT or an E next to impossible. That is why you MUST get a pair of mobility boots AND Dead Man's Plate. The previous build is missing out on a potential 130 movement speed.
This build will allow for extra strategies such as Lane ganks, warded river ganks, flanks, Flash + Q + R + E plays; all of which wouldn't be possible without the additional movement speed. This is the secret to carrying, opening up OPPORTUNITIES for yourself to be effective throughout the game.

so I took it upon myself to test it myself...and this happened:

I tend to roam less with this build and focus more on just dominating my lane. The only time I would roam with this build is if the enemy support is pressuring other lanes or to help contest objectives with my team. Something to keep in mind is this build is very "kill" or "be killed". So make sure you know how to combo with leona before using thunderlords as a keystone as you will be lacking a lot of mitigation and utility.
