The purpose of this build is to not only deal damage and kill everyone, it's to make sure that happens by making it near impossible to run away from you. Essence Reaver and Frozen Mallet give you the ability to stick like you woulnd't believe with the Essence Flair proc refreshing your Q and giving you the ability to leap to your target again, while the Frozen Mallet slows them continuously and just makes it impossible to run from.

This build takes off some of Talon's upfront burst damage from the "meta" build and gives you a lot higher consistent damage with faster auto attacks and abilities being used more often. Bad thing about this build is that you don't get your Duskblade until your third item if you're playing mid lane making it harder to spot out wards and get the jump on people.

The Top lane build is your standard bruiser build for the most part, lots of health with a little less damage than the mid lane build but still very scary.
