Introduction
Hey Guys, I've been asked recently a lot by my friends on how to play Shyvana.
Instead of telling each one of them how to do it i Figured hey why not make a guide for everyone to follow and learn how to play this amazing champion.
So here it is my Guide to playing Shyvana. Sorry about the 2nd Guide but really everything you need to know is on Guide 1, just different set up. The overall game play is the same. I've recently updated this guide after talking with a friend that is in the top 100 shyvana players and we ran some test. Overall i feel this is a great way to maximize shyvana's damage output while still being that unkillable tank. PLEASE NOTE: this build makes early game jungle a little harder but the payout is amazing.
I'm going to add some Videos a little later as my internet is being extremely slow today (Damn you netflix users) I appreciate any comments and will consider plenty of changes as the new season moves closer.
Here's my stream stop by say hi or watch me do my best to climb up the ranks while still having fun. Twitch.tv/quintana0904
Pros:No mana or Energy ( Has Ultimate Rage) Strong mid game Doesn't fall off late game Extremely Mobile (Have the extra CDR makes this even faster) Easy to Split Push Physical & Magic Damage (3 outta 4 Abilities Deal magic damage) |
Cons:No CC (Requires CC Team) Lame Passive (at max level you gain 40Armor + 40MR) Weak early ganks High cost build Hard to Land Ultimate (if not direct hit you can fly past them) Her Ultimate is not as tanky as it should be (Which i think is kinda BS considering its a Flying Dragon but hey i don't make the rules) |
Runes

Marks
These will increasing your early-mid game damage. I don't know why you would run anything else considering 3 outta 4 out you abilities do Magic damage and alot of people forget that about shyvana.
Seals
Just your standard armor seals i have heard of people running with Health/attack speed seals but i don't find them very helpful in the early game jungle when fighting blue buff is like going against Mike Tyson.
Glyphs
I like to use the Flat CRD runes simply because of the early game jungling, the more damage you can put out on those Camps and get the cleared the faster you become a god.
Quintessence
There are really so many options you can use with these, and to be honest it really depends on how you plan to jungle. I like jungle security i like to know my camps are cleared by me or an ally. Making it so the if the enemy jungler wants to come in he/she will have wasted their time and fall just that much more behind.
You can also consider going Attack Damage Quints, or Health, Even Attack Speed if you feel its needed. Alot of people have asked me about the Hybrid runes, instead of attack speed or damage, the answer is simple, you aren't relying on your basic attacks to be doing all the damage. Burnout is key just simply staying next to them with burnout and sunfire is a huge amount of damage per second.
Standard Set Up
Secondary Set Up You can also use this instead of maxing your Q simply take E at 13. Reason for doing so it Flame Breath will deal 100 damage instead of 60 and Twin Bite will already be doing 95% of her attack damage the missing 5% isn't really all that much.
You will over gain 40 more points of Damage -1 second on Flame Breath making it so you have a better chance of Casting Flame Breath and Burnout to maximize the damage. However its your call.

Smite
Teleport
These are what i consider the most useful over all while playing shyvana. Having teleport allows you to quickly set up for object control, ganking top then Teleport to bot lane is almost always going to result in a dragon if your team isnt being punished.
Other Spells to Consider
Flash- Being shyvana means you get into some pretty sticky situations pretty quick, You missed your ult or get caught while counter jungling what ever the case may be sometimes your ult isn't up or you just didn't get the distance you need. Flash was there for you.
Ignite- Sure you want to burn someone i get it, Cut healing in half thats cool. Watching them run away and realizing you aren't going to kill them and wasted it...not cool
Exhaust- Quite useful for engaging in ganks, slowing them to get into auto attack range, also helps taking 40% of their damage away. only reason i dont take this is most of the time they just flash away and your exhaust is wasted.
