Illaoi is one of the strongest champions in the game if you know how to play her well. Her strong team fight presence and INTENSELY high damage can turn the tides on a losing game, or secure a winning game.

There are many things you can do with Illaoi, build-wise. I use this build not because it gets the most kills, or lets you stand in the middle of a team-fight for 3 minutes, but because it's extremely adaptable. This build lets you play the game in the simplest way possible, without sacrificing damage, health or fun. This build is Illaoi in her purest form. (plus Guardian Angel, because dying sucks)

I'm by no means a League veteran. There are so many other players I can say are better than me. What I'm here for is to show you how I beat them anyways with what I find is a solid and reliably fun build for the Kraken Priestess

This build is a great balance between attack and defense. I often get 3 damage items and 3 tanky items, but depending on your team comp, or how well/badly your team is doing, you can easily accommodate more damage or defense into your build for that game.

Illaoi is by no means a simple champion. She requires set-up, patience and practice to truly master. This is what makes her a wonderful champion, because while you will eventually learn how to play her, your opponents might not understand her. This gives you the element of surprise and gives you various paths to take when approaching a fight

Here are a few tips that may help speed up the learning process:

[*] Learn how to skill shot effectively. Your E is an amazing ability. Don't miss it
[*] Know when to last-hit minions. Illaoi has a slow AA animation, so you cant hit minions too late
[*] Know her combos. E-R-W, W-Q-E-W, E-Q-W. Each is most effective in certain instances, and it won't take you very long to see that
[*] Time your R perfectly. If you ult too late or too early, it'll be harder for you to take your enemies down instantly, but oh so easy if you get the timing right
[*] PRACTICE!! This is the most important thing on this list! Illaoi isn't a simple champion, but she's not immensely difficult to learn. Play her enough, and you'll be winning games left and right


Learning how to play Illaoi well can take a few games, but it pays off extremely well. I died atleast 10 times in my first 3 games with Illaoi. On my 4th game, my record was 12/2/3. You'll get better too
