Lee Sin
[General] Lee Sin is dangerous to Yorick. Avoid him if possible. If you must fight him you can usually kill him with your ultimate, but Lee Sin normally has teammates with him especially if he is going in against a Yorick.
Introduction
Hello, I am Jomppe, a low elo Yorick main from pre, and post rework. I achieved level 7 Yorick pre rework. I learned him very quickly because I like his play style of being tanky and summoning units to help him fight. But I know I know, I'm low elo silver, I'm not qualified for this mechanically, but at least give me a little trust. I win most of my ranked games I promise, I just like normals more and I have like 1200 wins there, and I have hyper carried games by split pushing all the way to the nexus turrets and single handed killing anyone who tries to stop me.
Pros
+ Very strong early/mid game + Can 2v1 the jungler and laner with Eulogy of the Isles at level 6 + Counters Darius + Good farmer + Can be stronger vs multiple enemies with Death's Dance + Good CC with Dark Procession + Can 1v1 any monster including Baron |
Cons
- Low mobility - Countered by range - Somewhat difficult to learn - Falls off hard late game - Can be easily outplayed - Useless without ghouls/ult mid/late game -Without his ultimate or ghouls he is weaker than many other fighter champions because that is about half his kit -Weak against high damage fighters if they somehow manage to stick on him |
-
Death Defied: THE CURSED HORDE: Yorick and the Maiden of the Mist can each have up to four Mist Walkers under their command.
FINAL SERVICE: Yorick raises a Grave for every enemy champion and 12th / 8th / 4th non-champion enemy that dies near him, as well as for every enemy he kills with Last Rites.
-
Lay Waste (Q): FIRST CAST - LAST RITES: Yorick next basic attack within 6 seconds has 225 range, deals bonus physical damage, and heals him for 12 - 82 (based on level) health, doubled to 24 - 164 (based on level) health if he is below 50% maximum health.
BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE:
30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+ 40% AD)
Last Rites resets Yorick autoattack timer.
If there are at least 3 Graves nearby, Yorick can cast Awakening within Last Rite cooldown.
SECOND CAST – AWAKENING: Yorick raises a Mist Walker under his command from each nearby Grave, consuming the Graves he used.
-
Wall of Pain (W): ACTIVE: After a 1-second delay, Yorick summons a circular wall of spirits around the target area that lasts up to 4 seconds, which enemies cannot walk through.
Dark Procession can be targeted by enemy champion basic attacks and takes 1 damage per attack, dissolving after taking enough damage. Turret shots instantly dissolves the wall no matter how much health it has.
WALL HEALTH:
2 / 2 / 3 / 3 / 4
-
Defile (E): ACTIVE: Yorick hurls a globule of Black Mist that splashes across an off-centered area, dealing 15% of target's current health magic damage to all enemies hit, down to a minimum threshold.
MINIMUM MAGIC DAMAGE:
70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 (+ 70% AP)
Affected enemy champions and monsters are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds, and marked for 4 seconds, during which Yorick gains 20% bonus movement speed when moving towards them.
-
Requiem (R): ACTIVE: Yorick summons the Maiden of the Mist, along with 2 / 3 / 4 Mist Walkers.
The Maiden of the Mist moves and attacks on her own, dealing 10 / 20 / 40 (+ 0.5 per attack damage) magic damage every second to her target enemy and raising Mist Walkers from nearby enemy deaths.
Yorick's basic attacks against the Maiden of the Mist's target deal 5 / 7.5 / 10% of target's maximum health in bonus magic damage. This cannot happen more than once every 2 seconds, and triggers against structures.
If the Maiden of the Mist is summoned inside of a lane, she will start pushing that lane.
How Maiden Works1) If Yorick is harmed and Maiden is nearby she will join Yorick in combat. 2) Maiden and all ghouls will target any enemy champion and large monsters you throw your E on. 3) Maiden summons ghouls every time an enemy minion dies, so killing minions quickly helps refill your ghouls in a battle or while taking a turret. 4) Maiden's target slowly takes damage and Yorick does 5 / 7.5 / 10% of target's max health in bonus magic damage consuming this function on first hit. This damage buff is reapplied every two seconds, so in combat you can generally burst people down easily without consistently hitting them(therefore, staying out of the line of fire). Which is why going on-hit Yorick is useless. 5) Maiden's attacks apply life steal for Yorick(heals Yorick), but do not apply on-hit effects or spell effects. (Somehow works with Death's Dance too) 6) Maiden's health scales off of Yorick's max health 7) Maiden's damage scales off of Yorick's AD |
Control type: Autonomous Target type: Minion, does not count towards the minion kill tracking score Spell effects: The Mist Walker does not apply spell effects. Protection: The Mist Walker's attacks are mitigated by blinds, Counter Strike, and/or Aegis Protection, as well as stopped by Disarm. AbilitiesEndless March The Mist Walker remains near its master until they enter combat in a lane, whereupon it proceeds along the lane and attacks any enemy in its path. Decay The Mist Walker will only deal 40% damage if it moves too far away from Yorick. Single targeted spells and attacks will instantly kill the Mist Walker. Ravenous While in a 1400-radius of Mourning Mist's mark, the Mist Walker benefits from Mourning Mist's bonus movement speed, and has the ability to dash to marked enemy champions, indicated by an exclamation mark over its head. While the Mist Walker is near Yorick, it gains 60 movement speed and benefits from Yorick's flat movement speed bonuses. Stormraider's Surge is an percentual exception. Unholy Covenant Unlike other pets, the Mist Walker is not prioritized by turrets over Siege Minions, though they are prioritized over the Maiden of the Mist. Mist Walkers are considered to be a source of Yorick's physical damage, and will trigger effects such as Corrupting Potion's Touch of Corruption and Black Cleaver, as well as heal Yorick if he has a Death's Dance or a Hextech Gunblade. They will not trigger Yorick's on-hit effects, including life steal. Yorick's champion summoned units have been special-cased to not trigger Rylai's Crystal Scepter's Slow. |
All in all a fantastic early game rush item for Yorick. Gives some ad, attack speed, etc... and even that nice phage passive. But you will be crushing your enemies with Last Rites when you finish this item, sending them far far away into the mist. This item is much better for Yorick rather than Iceborn Gauntlet now in patch 7.14 due to the ghoul damage ratio being nerfed early game. |
This item works very well with the build we are using. Since Yorick heals from Last Rites and we have the healing from Death's Dance we will be getting so much more, plus magic resist from the Spirit Visage. |
The boots are versatile. Check the notes on my cheat sheet and have fun with your choice of those. I recommend ninja tabi in most cases. |
This is like THE core item to 1v5 with Yorick This is the unseen item that makes you a god. Your ghouls heal you. That's all there is to it. Ghouls deal INSANE damage mid game and healing 15% of that plus Spirit Visage makes you a monster. |
Another ungodly item for Yorick. Gives movement speed bonus for hitting champions and allows you and your ghouls to shred their armor. |
gives Yorick even more wave clear and a tremendous active with all of your bonus hp. |
Flash: Flash: I tend to only take Flash about 50% of the time. Really it's personal preference between flash and ignite, most of the time you would take Flash, but I like Ignite in general |
Ignite: Ignite: I really like Ignite on Yorick to easier best champions like Fiora or Darius who can heal quite a bit in the midst of a fight. |
Teleport: Teleport:Pretty much a must for most top lane champions. Allows you to get around the map easily, help teammates in tp plays, or just hold your lane or continue a split push. |
The split-pushing strategy is highly effective as a motto I play by is objectives win games. Your goal is to essentially take as many objectives as possible while constantly applying pressure in whatever lanes you can. With your ultimate cooldown recently decreased and it being up more often don't be so hesitant on when to use it anymore. I recommend you get Insight as your mastery if you plan on doing this before the game begins as it will allow you to Teleport much more often and have a stronger map presence. I will not lie with the split-pushing strategy you will most likely die a bit but it will allow the rest of your team to catch up or take needed objectives like dragons or baron or even towers from lost lanes. The split-push build path I traditionally take is Trinity Force, followed up by Ninja Tabi then Zz'Rot Portal, Sterak's Gage, then the last two items are really up to you. If you need some more damage grab a Titanic Hydra or Death's Dance (this item is great because you heal from your ghoul and maiden damage) then if needed a Spirit Visage to heal a bit more when pushing. If you seem to keep dying or they have a lot of fed ADs, just pick up a Bramble Vest or Thornmail to stop their carnage.
A very optimal way to utilize Yorick's pushing power is to place a zz'rot or ultimate in one lane, then teleport or walk to another lane and push it out. Your maiden will spawn more Ghouls in her lane and will force the enemy team to send someone to take care of it.
Also a very strong tip when pushing or taking objectives that makes it go even faster is to alternate between using your abilities every 1.5 seconds (since they're on such short cooldowns anyways) while damaging the objective to get off your Sheen proc. This actually deals a very high amount of damage especially when you have a Sterak's Gage in your arsenal as well. Remember your Q resets your auto attack! Try it in your next game if you didn't know about this it'll save you a lot of time! :)
