Introduction
I have just recently started playing this champion but in the short amount of time that I have played
this champion, I have learned much about him. Once you master his skill shots he is a really fun champ to play. I do pretty well with him, seeing as skill shots are fairly easy for me. I have been told by several previous Xerath mains that my prediction skills and timing with his skillshots are quite impressive and almost if not surpassed their skill level after all the time they put in with him.
Teleport
Flash
Heal
-
Since Xerath can be a bit of a slow champion, teleport could definitely have its uses.
-
As stated before, Xerath is not a very mobile champion, so flash is usually a necessity for him.
-
Heal also helps with Xerath's movement speed AND heals him at the same time, making it a very useful summoner spell.

As a Xerath support, it is your job to try and get your adc as fed as possible. In my experiences with this champ, frost fang or one of its higher tiers is good to use with your abilities. Using this method allows you to safely obtain gold from a distance without stealing your ADC's precious farm. I am not saying that you should not farm every now and then, by all means do so when possible as minion kills give more gold than your support item. The best time to do this would be whenever your ADC goes back to base. If you play Xerath correctly, you should be able to stay in lane much longer than your ADC. Even if both of the enemies are on bot lane with you, you can still get gold from your supp item from poking from under the tower and even killing minions when able. Let your ADC get as many kills as possible. If an enemy were to come close to escaping, you can blast them with your ult and finish the job yourself.
