Introduction
This is my guide on Gnar. I am RitzierJunk, I started playing league at the end of season 3. I am Gold v at this moment. Hope you enjoy this quick little guide I made.

Starting Items
Starting with Doran's Blade is usually the best choice, but you could start with Doran's Shield. Or if you want to go ham, start with red elixir and hp pots.
Core Items
Getting Cutlass and then rushing trinity gives you the needed movespeed and damage, if lane opponent is giving a hard time, then it might be good to build something defensive after Cutlass.
Damage & Defensive Options
After building Botrk, Trinity and Boots (Ninja Tabi), you can either choose to build more damage like Youmuu's or Last Whisper, or start building some defensive items like Randuin's or Banshee's. Just remember to pay attention to the enemy team, what champions they have and what they are building, and try to build depending on that.

Farming as Gnar might be difficult at first, because of rage and it fills up when you attack minions or take damage. Here I will tell how I farm, if my lane opponent is dominant, and goes ham a lot or does harass all the time, to keep rage low and not go in Mega form I only last hit with basic attacks and Q. But if your dominating, then filling your rage bar is fine, because then you can surprise them by jumping on a minion with E when your rage is full and transform mid jump, then ult them on a wall.
Good tip to remember when the game starts is, while mini you will die really fast and should be farming with Q and basic attacks. when your Mega Gnar, you can go ham and try to do some damage to your opponent, but you need to remember to watch your rage, if you go ham and it goes empty and you cant ult, you might just die because of that. So keeping an eye on your rage at all times helps a lot.

Again, keep an eye on the rage bar, if you see Gnar trying to only last hit, try and poke him a pit to get his rage up, once he gets full rage, just back up a bit and wait it out. Then you go ham on him, and you will still have your passive up, while he will need to either back or die.
Asking for a gank while Gnar is in Mega form or is just about to transform back into mini Gnar, is really good timing. Good jungler will know to wait till gnar fills his rage, and loses passive, and then gank.
